Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, & Alexander Technique
Hayes Cummings (he/him/his) is a versatile guitarist, experienced music educator, and a certified Alexander Technique Teacher. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Jazz and Contemporary Music at Longy School of Music and received a bachelors degree in classical guitar performance from Appalachian State University. He has performed, studied, and taught rock, folk, jazz, and classical throughout his guitar career.
Hayes’ passion for playing translates into a genuine love for teaching music. He believes learning music should be fun and works with each student to develop a unique curriculum that incorporates fundamentals and songs chosen by the student. Hayes incorporates mindfulness principles from the Alexander Technique into his music teaching to help his students find more ease, freedom, and enjoyment while avoiding pain and injury.
Hayes is also an active performer and has played music at venues up and down the east coast. He is currently playing with renowned progressive chamber music group, Cordis, Boston based folk trio, The Old North, as well as leading his own projects.
