Violin, Voice, Piano, & Composition
Mattia Maurée (they/them/theirs) sees teaching as a partnership, where they offer technical skills and supportive structure based on the student’s changing needs. Collaboration and community are integral to their process. Between violin, voice, piano, and composition, Mattia has worked with ages 3-88, and received training in both early childhood and creative aging teaching.
Mattia toured with the St. Olaf Choir in undergrad, and received a masters in composition from New England Conservatory. In the Boston area, they have put on multiple shows with long-time collaborator Pampi, including one for Fog x FLO with a grant from the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. Besides classical music gigs, Mattia also works as a session musician for other people’s albums, and occasionally performs their own pop music. Short films they have scored/recorded/performed have played in 13 countries. Mattia was a finalist for the Mass Cultural Council 2019 Artist Fellowships Program in music composition.
