Born and raised in Habana Cuba, Gabriela Joya is a young classical and contemporary flute player with over 10 years of experience in teaching and performing. Gabriela was the piccoloist of the Cuban National Ballet and Opera Symphony Orchestra.
Additionally, she was involved in several contemporary and Cuban music ensembles, having the opportunity to perform in Europe and Latin America and sharing stage with many musicians such as Jorge Reyes, Hernán López-Nussa, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Gastón Joya, Rolando Luna and Enrique Lazaga. She was also a flute professor at Guillermo Tomas Conservatory of Habana for a number of years.
Gabriela is currently majoring in Music Business at Berklee College of Music, and is a member of the Berklee Screen Scoring Recording Orchestra.
