Maria is a certified sound healing practitioner from the Sound Healing Academy.
I began my journey in music at the age of 3 y.o. and I have teaching experience for 17 years. Taoist practices were always a part of my warming up process in vocal classes as well as piano and other music disciplines. Some of those my teachers showed me, some others I learned myself.
The past 3 years of my life, I officially got exploring deeper in those sound healing techniques by getting certified as a sound healer practitioner at Sound Healing Academy, which became my third degree and another direction connecting with sound and music therapy.
Sound Healing Academy is a #1 sound healing and sound bath training group globally. Their unique method of integral sound healing has been tried and proven in thousands of case studies. It is a powerful process that balances body, mind, and spirit. Developed by The Sound Healing Academy, this method is a blend of modern scientific research, ancient wisdom, and sound therapy.
Our voice and body have the capacity and ability to heal themselves by specific breathing techniques, some vocal sounds, mantras, etc. And I was taught from early childhood how to incorporate those sound healing techniques in order to heal my body or my vocal cords by time when I often got sick.
Besides of Taoist practices what I mentioned earlier, I successfully use with my students some modified versions of 6 healing sounds of Qi Gong (which are also a part of Sound Healing Academy protocol). These were first officially transcribed during the Qui Dynasty, about 221-207 BC China. I adjusted them for vocal exercises. Some vowels and sounds I keep as they are, and to some of them I add a melody or give a specific form.
Another great method which helped me in early childhood to overcome my illness with lungs vocal cords and body in general is Strelnikova’s breathing exercises. Strelnikova respiratory gymnastics is used for the rehabilitation of the body in viral and inflammatory diseases, bronchial asthma, and other ailments.
The technique consists of 11 breathing exercises that do not cause fatigue, and lung ventilation may increase 5x. Breathing is performed during movement, and the entire energy balance of the human body is restored.
I have students with ADHD and different forms of autism and I can see a significant positive change when I incorporate sound healing techniques and music therapy in our lessons.
All of these techniques and knowledge I used successfully to help myself first. Now I help others combine a strong blend of music disciplines. It makes an unbelievable impact on my students.
